Busy week

The K 9 Listener centre has had a busy couple of weeks. The Nick Thompson and Julia Robertson event was a real success, bringing this kind of knowledge to the area was a really big thing, as I feel Lincolnshire on a whole is a bit behind the times when it comes to alternative care for our canine companions.

Nicks talk on canine nutrition was really interesting, going through the ins and outs of what dogs should eat, and what eating the commercial foods actually does for behaviour and health.

Dog Day Care

The Dog Day Care has been very busy this week, each week we continue to get nore and more dogs coming to us as opposed to your traditional Dog Kennels. I think the biggest thing in the favour to our dog day care as opposed to the dog kennels is the amount of stimulation and social interactions the dogs get.

Horrible act of cruelty

Whilst running this morning I came across a fox caught in a snare, I decided since I was out with my dogs to take them home and come back to release it. Although the fox was concerned about me it let me release the snare then ran off, stopping once to having quick look back. I was under the impression that snaring was illegal, so rang the RSPCA, the informed me that this type of snare was not illegal. How can any snare not be illegal ? the animal will still die as I doubt they are checked on a regular basis.

Dog training tips

 Hi everyone

Dog training can be made really fun and really simple, all you need to have are the simple tools and knowledge on how to train your dog correctly.

Dog training must be rewarding for both you and the dog otherwise you are going to get fed up and this will pass down onto the dog we are trying to train.
and as a result the dog gets fed up and starts to miss behave.

The most simple thing You can do to teach your dog what is required while training it is to tell him/her what you want it to do. Sounds obvious doesn't it!
